Meet the Teacher
My name is Lynn Jackson, and my ambition is to make a difference in a child's life. I want to come to school each and everyday to provide my students with the fundamentals that they need to be successful. I strive to make their time in my class worthwhile in more ways than one. I hope that students not only leave my class with knowledge gained, but they also have acquired or strengthened their self pride and self-esteem.
Let me share a few things about myself. I am a native Tennessean, having spent the majority of my childhood in Clarksville, Tennessee. I moved to Dover in 1995, when I began teaching fourth grade. I met my husband a year later and we have a beautiful daughter, Megan. She is currently moving to the middle school to attend sixth grade. Megan enjoys dance, piano, softball, and basketball. My husband has four grown children and five grandchildren. We enjoy spending time with the four grand-daughters and grandson.
In 2007, I was repositioned to teach second grade. In returning to a self-contained classroom, I reconnected with teaching all subjects and getting to know my class on a one to one basis. I had a good year and look forward to more great and productive years in second grade.
I have a Bachelor's degree from Austin Peay State University, and my Master's Degree from Walden University. In addition to occupying my time with my family, friends, and school, I enjoy reading, scrap-booking, and crafting.
