Parent Homework 2009

Dear Parent/Guardian;

    I would like you to help me become a partner in your child’s education.  I will have you son or daughter for a full year of learning, and would like to make a contribution which lasts a lifetime.

   I need your help with making your child feel at home in my classroom, and assist the children in coming together in a learning environment composed of unique individuals.  Please take a quiet moment to write a letter about your child.  I would like to know what things inspire him/her, what things may upset him/her, and anything that could describe what he/she is like.  Also, I am interested in your child’s hobbies, likes/dislikes, and unique capabilities. In addition, I would like to be made aware of any limitations or weaknesses, so that I may prepare any needed assistance.  Tell me how you see your child as a learner and developing individual.

    Thank you so much for your cooperation.  I know together we will make this a very successful year for your son or daughter.  I look forward to working with you both to make this an outstanding year.  I look forward to learning more about your child through your eyes in the letter to me.  Take your time in sharing this information.  There is no hurry in completing the Parent Homework.  I look forward to reading each and every one of the letters.

                                       Sincerely,
