Hometown and family in area: Clarksville, Tennessee. All her immediate family lives there: husband, Kenny; daughter, Kara (20 years old); son, Kyle (18 years old); parents; grandmother; three brothers and sister; 12 nieces and nephews.

Educational history: Bachelor's of Business Administration and Master's in Education, Career Ladder Level III.

Favorite classroom activity: "I love all my classes, but I enjoy Accounting the most."

Most memorable teaching event: "My most memorable event would be when I took my Business Professionals of America students to New York City in 1999. We competed at the national level in Philadelphia and after the awards we headed to NYC. We spent the entire first day at the Statue of Liberty and near the World Trade Center. We have hundreds of pictures of the students with the Trade Center in the background. These memories are even more precious now."

Greatest reward of teaching: "Teaching IS a reward. When you see a student realize, "I got it!!!", when students return and tell you how much what you taught has helped in their post-secondary lives, the little cards and notes they give you. Every day is a reward and I LOVE being with my students at Stewart County High School."

Other comments: "The Business Professionals of America student vocational organization is a major part of my school program. Students compete regionally, at state and nationally each year. For the past two years, SCHS has had a state officer in BPA."
