An ACT word of the day will be posted on the SCHS website and once a month there will be a voluntary test on the ACT words.  The students that score the highest will be entered into a drawing for fabulous prizes.  This is an excellent way to raise ACT scores.

The ACT word of the day is CORPULENT.  Corpulent is an adjective meaning: Very fat; obese.

We are on assembly schedule today with students reporting to homeroom.

The Student Council Installation ceremony will be today in room 117 during homeroom.  All members need to attend.

All FCCLA/BEARS members participating in Relay for Life need to pay their $10.00 registration fee to Mrs. Wallace today.

The golf team needs to attend their meeting with Mr. Hickman at Paris Landing at 3:30.  This meeting must take place in order to get your playing cards for the summer.

The boy's basketball team needs to be dismissed today at 2:40.

Today is locker clean out day.

The spring play The Canterville Ghost will be presented at the annex auditorium tonight and Thursday night at 7pm.  Admission is $5.00.

All student debt needs to be cleared for a student to receive their final report card or diploma.  Be sure to take care of this as soon as possible.  There will be no any early dismissals on Friday.  If you are not coming Friday to pick up your report card, you may bring a self addressed, stamped envelope to the office by Wednesday.  We will mail it to you if you are debt free.  If you are coming Friday morning to pick up your report card and leave you must be here before 7:30am.  All students arriving after 7:30am  will not be able to leave before dismissal time at 9:15.

Seniors enrolled in a college or tech school must have a final transcript sent after graduation.  The cost is $1. Come by Mrs. Mitzi's office to sign up.

All library books need to be returned immediately.

Any girl wanting to try out for next year's girls' basketball team should pick up information in the office.

Students are reminded that though the exam exemption policy has been discontinued, our attendance policy is still in place:  You must be present at least 75 minutes of class time to be considered present for that class AND if more than five unexcused absences are accumulated during a nine week class any average of 70 or higher  becomes a 69 and no credit will be will be granted  for that class.  Remember  also to bring in a doctor's note the day you return to school in order to get your absence excused.
