Newspaper Staff Field Trip

The Newspaper staff enjoyed the tour of the Leaf Chronicle. We saw the equipment used to print the paper and we saw where the reporters work.  Ms. Sue Lewis shared the history of the newspaper.  The Stewart-Houston Times is printed at the Leaf Chronicle.  We saw a large machine that folds the paper and another one that inserts the sale sheets and coupons in the Sunday paper.  She also told us how the tornado tore down the building but left the printing equipment that was in the basement undamaged.  We saw the first printing presses which are pictured below.

After the tour, we went to the Clarksville Museum.  There is a Brain Room where we learned about the wind and other scientific facts.  Then we went into another area where we took turns standing in a big bubble like the bubbles we buy.  Then we had lunch and returned to school.  We learned a lot on the trip and had fun too.
