'A Huggable Hero'

We interviewed Chandler and Mrs. Tina Conley about Huggable Hero for Build-A-Bear Workshop.

Chandler said:” My mom wrote a paper to Build-a Bear workshop explaining what I had done for the babies at the hospital. So now I am in the Semi-Finalists.”

Mrs. Conley said:” I had to write a 100 word essay about a 'Huggable Hero,' and I sent it in. Then about two weeks later we got a letter in the mail saying that she was in with the other 140 semi finalist.”

A First grader's Place

The first grade had a program in the gym about different cultures.  Mrs. Mary Ann Jordan got a grant that allowed her class to participate in a musical program.  A musician, Mr. Haynes, a dancer, Ms. Liz, and a poet, Mr. Davis came to teach the students the songs and dances.  The first graders learned a Mexican hat dance, a Japanese dance, and a French dance.

Well done first grade!

A Generous Gift

of Books

The Stewart County Sheriff’s office came to Mrs. Law’s third grade class and gave books to the students.  Sheriff Vinson and Deputy Derek Wyatt told the children and told them the title of the book and told them about the story and the author. Then they took a picture and waved goodbye.
